ODOT, SPTC, the Oklahoma Transportation Library, and members across 18 states are wrapping up the TPF-5(442) pooled fund study. Since its establishment in 2020, this pooled fund study has accomplished a wide range of goals, including but not limited to, raising over $1.1 million; sponsoring travel by members to conferences such as AASHTO RAC, SLA, and the TRB Annual Meeting; creating numerous LibGuides on many transportation research topics, including cutting-edge technologies; providing Section 508 remediation services and developed classes to teach remediation to researchers; planning and execution of a large digitization project for members in partnership with the Internet Archive; updating the Transportation Librarian’s Toolkit; and creating a synthesis document on current best practices and recommendations for the future of transportation libraries.

The pooled fund will conclude in February 2025, but many members have expressed interest in joining a new iteration of the pooled fund and continuing with the work currently underway.

You can read a detailed overview of the pooled fund at this link, and the fund’s LibGuides can be found at this link.
